WHEELCHAIR PRIVILEGES

I got wheelchair privileges this morning!  After breakfast I was hooked up to the monitor again, I was still having a few small contractions, but I am still considered "stable".  The Doctor said I can now sit up a little or have a wheelchair ride.  So, we took a tour of the NICU at 3:00 this afternoon.  They currently have 96 babies being taken care of there!  It was amazing to see.  We hope we will not end up there, but if we do, I feel very fortunate to have access to the top 10 neonatal unit in the country.
Tim and my mom are ready to play a game of Skip-Bo, so I gotta go!

I'm glad to hear that things are lookin' up. I'll be praying that your little boy will learn a little patience and stay in-utero for a while longer. Glad to see you have your own blog - welcome to the bloggin' world! BTW - who is your specialist doc (curious if it is the one that I was seeing)?

You don't know me, but I know Kelly, Daysha and Jill K. and you've helped my mom (Shari Buursma) at the hospital a few times (she says how nice you are:-) )...please know that I'm praying for you guys. Hopefully the little guy stays in longer! That is great that you've even kept him in a bit longer! I was on bedrest in May mainly at home (ended up having my girl at 31 wks and she is doing great) for only a few weeks and know how boring that is--I can't imagine how boring it is having to be in the hosptital the whole time! And I agree about the magnesium sulfate not being fun!! But whatever works, right? They are totally worth it all! Also, if your baby does have to be in the NICU, it is an awesome place with awesome care and a great support of people. Sorry this is getting so lengthy! Hang in there:-).

Hey Jen!

Skip-Bo, huh? I used to play that all the time when I was younger. Isabella was in the NIM Nursery there after she was born (at 34 weeks).

Anyway, I'm glad to hear everything's going well!

Oh - I am so glad that you are able to get around a little bit and can get out of your room - that must be a good feeling. That is amazing that there is 96 babies in there. My friend Mere's baby was in the NICU for a long time and they took such great care of her there - that hospital is amazing and I am so glad to know that you are getting really good care there. Talk to you soon! Jill

Jen & Tim,

I talked to Tim today for a bit on Facebook and he let me know about the blog. Please know that we are praying for you and hope all goes as well as possible. This brings back a lot of memories to say the least. How crazy that our stories are turning out to be very similar. Take care and talk to you soon.
