Yesterday I had some excitement with the McCain/Palin rally at the ford Field house. I could see the secret service men on the roof of the building next door. They were up there all day with binoculars, but I didn't see any sniper riffles.
Today I got to have lunch with some of the other girls on the floor. It was sponsored by March of Dimes and the NICU (neonatal unit here). Lunch was brought in from Panera Bread. I had a turkey sandwich with cheese broccoli soup - don't be jealous Tim! It was a nice chance to get out of my room and meet other moms who are also on bed rest. One mom has been here for 4 weeks, one 3 weeks, me, two weeks, and lots of others who have been here around one week or less. Three of them were pregnant with multiples, and one mom is here for the third time on bed rest and made it 6 weeks and 8 weeks last time she was here. We mostly talked about how we ended up here and how far along we are or if we had other kids at home. I wish I would have asked what they all do to pass the time. Maybe I could have gotten some new ideas. Tim's friend Troy seems to think I need to learn to play the banjo while I'm here. Wouldn't that be funny? Hey, you never know what kind of talent I will get to thank baby DeHaan for :0).

Cute Jen:)
Yes! The banjo! I'll let Mike know to expect you joining the praise team!
Praise God...27 weeks is awesome. We'll continue to pray for 28 weeks. I'm glad you got to have lunch with the other ladies there and to enjoy the afternoon. :)
I think they should have given you a pair of binoculars and you could have gotten paid for the day:) Glad to hear your doing well.

Congratulations of 27 weeks! Hopefully you can make it at least a couple more!
Jen, You probably don't know me but I know your mom and dad pretty well from church. Your mom also brought me a meal after my twins passed away in April. I hope it's OK that I added your blog as a link on my blog : ) Congrats on 27 weeks! Praying for you always!
You are so wonderfully positive! I love it! It's nice that you got to meet some other moms too. Keep up the good work Jen--27 weeks woot woot! You're in my prayers!
But did they bring you a chocolate cookie??? A Panera lunch is not complete without one of those! And I am shooting for 34 weeks! :)
Hey Jen,
Did you happen to see Ashley? She was volunteering there. She got to shake hands with John McCain and
Todd Palin!! Glad to hear things are still going well!! I do think you could learn to play the banjo since you do have a little musical background!!

Hi Jen, this is Pam Dreyer from church. If you need any books, I have almost a library of them here at my house...my new favorite author is Jodi Picoult. Let me know if you would like some. I can bring them to church for Tim to pick up. Keeping you in my prayers. We spent some time in Spectrum with Mitchell (one week) in July...great hospital. Take care.
I am so glad to hear you made it to 27 weeks. I will keep praying for you that the time will go fast during the boring days and that you stay in the hospitals for many more weeks and let that bun cook a little more longer!(smile)

SO glad to hear you made it to 27 weeks! What a blessing! I continue to pray Baby DeHaan gets comfy and hangs out a few weeks longer! I bet if they keep feeding you Panara He will totally stay put...good stuff (I'm with Kelly about the cookies!). Maybe you should share the banjo idea with the other girls on the floor and inspire them to pick up an instrument, you could start a band!
