Low Hemoglobin

Liam was up to 8 feeding in a row as of this morning. Then I called to check up on him and he decided to get really tired. His nurse ordered more labs to check his hemoglobin again. It was still pretty low (8.2) even though he was on iron, so they decided to give him an infusion of blood. He had to get an IV, which he hasn't had in a long time. With all this going on, they thought it best to let him rest during his feedings, so back to zero and we start the count over again. We really thought tomorrow we were going to be bringing him home. They even have all of his discharge papers ready. I think this is the third time they have given the hint that he will be going home and Liam decides otherwise. We are trying to stay really positive. It may take a few days for him to catch up and regain some strength again. He did take his 5:00 and 8:00 bottles tonight, 2 down, only 14 more to go!
This is after his infusion. He was really tired and didn't open his eyes too much. They took his arm out of his shirt to put in the IV. You can really see how chunky his arms and cheeks are getting. Even his little hat is getting too small.

Hey, tell that Liam uncle Chris is praying and thinking about him. Sometimes it's two steps forward one step back. I am sure God knows exactly when he will be ready to go home. Hang in there.

It's hard to think he will be home at the end of the week then you turn around and they tell you different. I promise you...Liam will be home soon and you and Tim will soon to forget how long he was there. Still thinking of you all. Keep your Head up!! Jess

We're boldly praying for you guys. God knows our needs before we're even aware of them. Don't just "hang in there", know that God is "Upholding you in there!"

We are so sorry to hear that little Liam hasn't gotten to come home yet - but we are so glad that he is getting such awesome care there - we will continue to pray that he will get even healthier. We so want to meet him but know now is not the best time - just let us know if there is anything that we can do to help. Looking forward to celebrating Liam and Ella on Friday! Jill
